In this film Amithab playing a father role to deepika. Irrfan khan and Deepika acting combine with Amithabh for the very first time. The team of Piku is reunion of Shoojit sircar, Ronnie lahiri and Juhi Chathurvedi who scripted the movie Vicky Donor.
